Learning journey
The path to Net Zero
Kick-off event on 12 & 13 November 2024 at Bosch in Homburg
Pioneer Bosch shares the 17 years of experience of its lead plant in climate-neutral production
Every Monday, the morning meeting at the Bosch plant in Homburg begins with at least one piece of good news: 80% energy savings at the weekend.
Thanks to consistent shutdown planning, the machines and systems only require a fifth of the normal weekend demand. But this is just one of hundreds of projects with which the Bosch energy efficiency centre has proven that 40% energy savings are possible in production.
Today, energy costs are an important location factor. Bosch began developing and implementing a variety of transferable approaches to improve energy efficiency at its lead plant for climate-neutral production in Homburg 17 years ago. The measures range from A for shutdown management to Z for condition-based maintenance. As part of our learning journey ‘The road to Net Zero’, the Bosch lead plant is sharing its pilot experience in recording consumption, saving energy and using CO2-free energy sources such as green hydrogen.
